“My paintings are mostly inspired by a love of the British landscape and in particular the subtle hues of autumn and winter. Mist shrouded beaches and hillsides, mysterious forests and abandoned buildings in the landscape all hold a fascination for me. My northern upbringing and my ancestry in the Orkney Islands of Scotland are perhaps the reasons why I am drawn to the understated sublimity of these shores.”
